Yesterday, we welcomed three special guests who each mean a great deal to childcare in their own way: Ruben Fukkink (Professor of Childcare), Gjalt Jellesma (Chair of BOinK), and Serv Vinders (Ambassador and Board Member of the Childcare Council).
During their working visit, we took them around three of our locations to show how we work every day on accessible childcare, equal opportunities, and optimal development for every child.
Kibeo 't Saamdeel in Kapelle
We started at 't Saamdeel in Kapelle, where the toddlers got to work with story stones and interactive reading: a great example of our language program in practice. Outside, they played wonderfully, while upstairs at Wereldmakers, after-school care children baked banana pancakes. We also discussed our collaboration with the education sector there.
Elorah Kapelle
At Elorah in Kapelle, we attended a music activity about Noah's Ark and discussed how faith, pedagogy, and education come together in the offerings. We also discussed the development of labels within Kibeo and their significance for parents and children.
Wiedewei Zierikzee
We concluded the day at Wiedewei in Zierikzee. Naturally, outdoors, as is fitting for Wiedewei. A guided activity took place there, during which children learned to recognize and name feelings through play using emotion puppets. We spoke with colleagues about how the outdoor space is consciously used as a pedagogical tool and how sustainability and nature are interwoven with the daily offering.
A valuable day full of exchange, sharpness, and engagement. With exactly the conversations that move the sector forward.
