Festive opening of Educational Center Wemeldinge

Last Friday, it was a celebration at Wemeldinge! Together with Albero, the municipality of Kapelle, children, parents, colleagues, partners, and residents, we celebrated the official opening of the new Educational Center Wemeldinge. During the opening, the new name of the building was also unveiled: the Wemelwijzer. 

Childcare and education truly together
In the Wemelwijzer, childcare and education not only come together under one roof. Kibeo and Albero work from one shared vision and with a continuous line on the development of children aged 0 to 12. 

This creates a safe, familiar, and challenging environment in which every child is given ample space to learn, play, discover, and grow. Attention is paid to the broad development of the child: from knowledge and basic skills to social skills, independence, creativity, and personal growth. 

A building that creates connection
Connection is central to the design of the new Educational Centre. The modern and climate-neutral building has no traditional corridors, but rather open plazas onto which various classrooms and other spaces open. This allows children and professionals to meet easily. 

Various partners also have a place in the building, such as the GGD. And through a special connecting door, you can walk directly from the school into community center De Wemel. Here, children can use the stage for performances, for example. The library is also directly accessible from the community center. 

A place for all of Wemeldinge
De Wemelwijzer is more than just a place for childcare and education. Together with the new gymnasium, community center De Wemel, and the library, the Educational Center forms a central hub in the village. A place where young and old can meet, learn, and be active. 

During the festive opening, visitors were able to discover this for themselves. After the official unveiling of the new name, there was an opportunity to view the Educational Center, the gymnasium, and the village hall, and to meet the various organizations. 

With the opening of the Wemelwijzer, Wemeldinge has gained a special place where childcare, education, and other facilities come together. A place where children aged 0 to 12 can continue to develop in a familiar environment and where connection with the village is central.
