In 2022, Kibeo launched the 'senior pedagogical professional' pilot. Ten colleagues started in this new role. The pilot proved so successful that another 45 new senior pedagogical professionals will start in September!
We focus on the pedagogical quality of childcare.
The senior pedagogical professional works at a single location, alongside the internal supervisors, the early childhood education policy officers, and the coaches who coach and support multiple branches. We consider pedagogical quality so important that, in addition to all statutory obligations, we deploy the senior pedagogical professional as an extra resource at the locations.
The aim is that in the future, a senior pedagogical professional will work at every location of Kibeo, Wiedewei, and Elorah, taking on this important task. To properly prepare the senior pedagogical professional, we are starting an internal training program within our own Kibeo Academy. This program is structured to address both the substantive content and the skills required to coach the pedagogical professional.
The role of the senior pedagogical professional
Together with the team, the senior pedagogical professional is responsible for the pedagogical quality at the location. In this role, they are closely involved in, among other things, preschool education, translating the pedagogical policy to the location, the daily routine, goals from the PiB (Pedagogical Integration Framework), and strengthening the continuity between childcare and primary school. In short, they safeguard everything related to our pedagogical quality and translate this into practice on the work floor.
