Childcare organization Kibeo has started Junia: childcare, toddler groups and after-school care based on Christian values. Eight existing branches that Kibeo took over from Bambino Christelijk Kindcentra in 2023, and which already work with the Bible as a source of inspiration, together form the new label Junia. The expectation is that Junia will grow to around twenty branches in the coming years, spread across the Netherlands. You will find branches of Junia in Katwijk, Valkenburg (ZH), Dordrecht, Almkerk and Eindhoven.
Childcare where you discover your talents and how you can be of value to the environment
Junia offers various types of care, such as day care (for children from zero to four years old), toddler groups (for children from two to four years old) and after-school care (for primary school children).
At Junia everyone is welcome. Using Biblical themes, children learn together and from each other. With the Bible as a source of inspiration, they discover their own talents at Junia and how they can be of value to their environment. This stimulates self-confidence and social development. In other words: believe in who you are allowed to be and treat each other with respect and love.
Elly Brand, director of Kibeo, says: “We like to offer parents and children an environment where they feel at home. The childcare of Junia is based on Christian values and thus connects with primary school. With this appropriate preschool education we give every child the same development opportunities, regardless of their background.”
A day at Junia
A day at Junia starts with a circle time and a theme from the Bible. Then the children get started with a VVE program based on the 'Uk & Puk' method or Peuterpraat. "The Christian values are reflected in our themes and how we interact with each other. Children develop through play and learn from each other. They can develop at their own pace," says Natasja Oggel, director of Junia.
Junia believes it is important that the development of the child is central. The activities, materials, themes and methods stimulate various areas of development. Attention is also paid to the way of furnishing, for example there are various pedagogical corners in the space.
