When your child comes to daycare, he or she will receive a personal mentor. For your child, this is often a permanent employee, a familiar face. The mentorship works in two ways; your child can go to the mentor if he or she is not feeling well. Conversely, the mentor knows your child through and through and follows the development closely.
Your child's development is constantly monitored
Our pedagogical professionals are trained to monitor your child's development and to see if there is a need for more exercises, structure or challenge. We do that by KIJK! a method to map your child's development in 11 different areas. We look at where your child is in terms of development in relation to peers; a bit in front or behind.
If your child is too behind in a certain area, he or she may need something extra. If this is the case with your child, the mentor will first have a conversation with you. When there is an actual need for care, we ensure that your child receives the right care, at the right time from the right people.
Collaborate with specialists
To be able to offer the best care, we seek cooperation with people who specialize in this; Youth Health Care (JGZ) or Center for Youth and Family (CJG). We understand it can be quite overwhelming to deal with all those agencies. Thanks to our good contacts, we can guide you in this. We involve you every step of the way; you offer the best care together.
Our goal is to provide childcare to as many children as possible. That is why, just like primary schools, we offer suitable education and suitable care.
How do we all help?
- Children who have fled to the Netherlands with their families may feel unsafe. This is reinforced by the fact that children do not speak Dutch. In a specific situation, the Internal Counselor of Kibeo guided this child individually. When the child started to feel safer, language development also started.
- When it comes to language development and emotional safety, sometimes children just can't go to primary school when they reach the age of four. That is not a problem, in that case children can stay a little longer at childcare. Going to school is then built up slowly and in combination with childcare. For example, a child who had not yet fully reached primary school level at the age of 4 eventually went to primary school every day at the age of 4 years and 9 months.
- When a child is lagging behind in language development, it is possible to have Auris observed in consultation with the parents. After an observation and discussion with the parents, a treatment program is initiated for the child. When the child can then go to primary school, Auris's treatment will be continued there. Auris is an organization that specializes in extra support in speech, language and hearing.
